Frequently Asked Questions
How does label scanning work?
Point your camera at a wine label and Jeroboam reads it on your device using Apple’s Vision framework. On devices with Apple Intelligence, the details (producer, cuvée, vintage, region) are extracted automatically; on other devices a simpler extraction is used. When you confirm a match, the label photo is saved to your account and helps improve recognition.
The scan got some details wrong
Scanning works best on clear, well-lit, flat labels. You can always edit any field manually before saving a wine to your cellar.
What is the wine database?
The Discover tab lets you search a reference database of over 200,000 wines (the LWIN registry) by producer, region, or name, and add matches straight to your cellar.
How do I record a bottle I drank?
Open the wine in your cellar and add a journal entry — you can attach photos, a rating, and tasting notes. Your journal is private to your account.
Can I get my data out?
Yes. Settings › Export Data gives you your complete cellar and journal as JSON. You can also delete your account and all data from Settings.
